Kenneth Jorgensen

George Kerr writes:

The Toronto Star has the notice of Ken’s passing.  I was speaking to him on Sunday and new his situation was serious, but we had a good chat.

Ken was a Cub & Scout at the 58th Toronto Group under the Leadership of Gwen & Fred J. Finlay.  He maintained his interest in Scouting till the last, as in our chat on Sunday.  I first met him as a member of the HSR Staff in 1950 and 1951.  He went on to be the Area Commissioner, Etobicoke Central Area and later Deputy  Regional Committee to Bert Page.  He was also in the 1980’s on the Regional Special Events Committee.  Training was his first interest as a member of the GTR and Ontario Training Teams which many Scouters were the benefactors of his Courses.

During the years Ken & I kept a close friendship, despite being his “Field Exec” for several years.

Toronto Star: Peacefully after a courageous battle at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Ken Jorgensen of Doe Lake was in his 79th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Andrea Hansen. Dear father of the late Philip, Randy (Sue), Eric (Carol-Ann) and Andrea’s daughter Laurie (John).
